Job Summary:  Provide technical account management, hands-on architectural guidance, and overall support for Alluxio implementations to meet customer objectives.

You will possess a strong technical account management skill set to manage Alluxio deployments from end-to-end, ensuring customer success. You will also provide hands-on technical expertise for Alluxio customers in the context of various Big Data compute integrations like Spark, Hive, and Presto. You are comfortable working with business stakeholders as well as key technical leaders to deploy Alluxio solutions. You will be a trusted advisor to our customers, a subject matter expert on Big Data, cloud platforms, and will help our customers achieve the most out of the Alluxio.

Responsibilities

  • Manage business and technical aspects of customer deployments using a blend of technical and project management skills
  • Leverage a wide Big Data ecosystem technical skill set (e.g. Spark, Presto, Hadoop/HDFS, Hive, and more) to play the role of lead architect for Alluxio deployments through requirements gathering, analysis and design, etc.
  • Act as a trusted technical advisor for customers to solve complex Big Data challenges that align with optimal use of Alluxio platform
  • Provide best practices guidance and recommendations to Alluxio customers to ensure successful Alluxio implementations and overall customer success
  • Uncover new opportunities with existing customers to implement Alluxio solutions to address customer needs
  • Willing to assist the Alluxio on all manner of issues, as the situation demands

Required Skills and Experience

  • 5+ years of experience working in a hands-on manner with major Big Data technologies and frameworks including but not limited to Spark, Hive, ZooKeeper, HBase, Presto, Hadoop, etc.
  • Ability to quickly learn, adapt, and implement Open Source technologies and desire to learn new skills and techniques
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision as well as contribute to team efforts is and ability to support multiple projects simultaneously and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills, including communicating technical issues to non-technical audiences and strong critical thinking, decision making, troubleshooting, attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Able to work under pressure with an international team to ensure the success of customers
  • Committed to customer success; flexible, agile, adaptive to change.
  • Proven track record as a Solutions Architect for various software solutions.
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills, including communicating technical issues to non-technical audiences and strong critical thinking, decision making, troubleshooting, attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to travel at least 50% of time as customer needs require.Located in a major metropolitan area.

Desired Skills

  • Experience with commercial Big Data platforms (Cloudera, Hortonworks, MapR)
  • Wide technical skillset including, but not limited to:
  • Hand-on Unix/Linux experience
  • Big Data solutions developed in large cloud computing infrastructures such as Alibaba Cloud, Amazon Web Services, Azure Cloud, or Google Cloud
  • Kubernetes experienceTensorflow and PyTorch experienceData management, manipulation, and aggregation (relational databases, web services, Big Data)SQL, HTTP, Java, JSON
  • Understanding of various data lake and Big Data approaches, industry standards and industry best practices
